In addition to being beautiful to look at Peafowl feathers are commonly used in artwork, jewelry making, and fishing lures.

We have found that keeping our peacocks enclosed in aviaries limits their calling substantially, which can be annoying to some people. This has been the case over many years of keeping many peafowl. Although Peacocks are some what common, they are still one of the most beautiful birds in the world.

We feed both our Peacocks and Guineas a mixture of poultry crumbles, scratch grains, wild bird seed and table scraps. We offer the peacocks dry cat food as well.

Guineas are known as the "Watch Dogs" of the property. They often chatter and call when there are unwanted guests like coyotes or owls or other predators. Guineas are grazers and basically care for themselves other than in Winter months when extra food is provided. They eat bugs including ticks which make them a beneficial bird to have around.

Guineas feathers are used in arts and crafts. They lay many eggs which are edible or used in crafts. The meat of a guinea hen is comparable to a pheasant.
